1. Indexation of mortgage payments
In view of article 4 of the Royal Decree of September 14, 2016 determining the fees for the execution of mortgage formalities and for the issuance of copies and certificates, last amended by article 8 of the Royal Decree of May 18, 2022, the fees will be adapted to the consumer price index. from January 1, 2024.
The consumer price index for November 2014 (the starting index in the above-mentioned article) originally stood at 100.09, while for November 2023 it is 128.89.
The table below shows the flat-rate fees applicable from January 1, 2024, compared with the basic fees.
Your attention is drawn to the following :
- The new lump-sum fees will apply to securities entered in the deposit register from January 1, 2024 and to mortgage information (certificates, copies and extracts) requested from January 1, 2024;
- In the accounting system, the new indexed lump-sum payments will be automatically calculated and determined from January 1, 2024.
- The indexed amount due for the transcription (285 EUR) must be included in the notice of payment for a deed of inheritance to be transcribed from January 1, 2024.

3. Indexation of remuneration Pledge register
In view of Article 16 of the Royal Decree of September 14, 2017 implementing the articles of Title XVII of Book III of the Civil Code, concerning the use of the National Pledge Register, the fees set out in Article 14 will be adjusted to the consumer price index as of January 1, 2024. As a result, any (chargeable) transactions carried out in the Pledge Register from January 1, 2024 onwards will be subject to the indexed fee tariff.
